
Pilates for Better Balance
A two hour pilates based workshop led by Doctor of Physical Therapy, Dr. Kristina PT, DPT. During this workshop we will dive into the anatomy, function, role & incorporation of the three major systems of Balance:
- Proprioception
- Vestibular
- & Vision
We will be assessing our balance through movement, identifying areas of weakness and learning how to progress and regress balance challenges to find the best challenge your unique balance centers.
A bit about Dr. Kristina
With eight years of experience as a physical therapist, Dr. Kristina has always blended pilates into her physical therapy practice, in addition to working as a Pilates instructor at Boston Body Pilates - East Watertown. Professionally, she spent several years working in a neuro outpatient facility working with adults and children on improving balance and addressing dizziness.
Dr. Kristina's blends her knowledge of the three major systems of balance with the pilates system to help those who are hoping to improve or train their balance-- looking to support athletic performance through balance specific training, support concussion recovery, or even those looking to prevent falls and support aging or anyone in between!

What will this workshop cover?

Methods to progress / regress balance challenges based upon the particular system of balance that requires extra support

30 minute pilates flow led by Dr. Kristina focused on incorporating these three systems to challenge, progress and regress balance
